Delete your account and data

Option A: directly in the app

Open the app and choose Settings → Account → Delete account. The deletion is triggered straight from the app. This is the quickest route.

Option B: through the form on this page

If you no longer have access to the app or to your account, request deletion using the form below. What happens then:

1. You fill in the form: which app is affected, the email address of your account, and how much you want deleted.
2. We confirm that your request has reached us.
3. As a safeguard we reply to the email address you gave and ask for a short confirmation, so that nobody can have someone else's account deleted. Please reply to that email – without your confirmation we are not allowed to delete anything.
4. We then delete your account and the data belonging to it, at the latest within one month of receiving your request (Art. 12 (3) GDPR). In practice it is usually much faster.
5. You receive written confirmation once the deletion is complete.

This data is deleted

• your account email address and your login credentials,
• your profile and account settings,
• the content you saved in the app,
• support correspondence relating to your account.

Once the deletion is complete it cannot be undone. Regaining access to your account or to the content you saved is then impossible.

This data we retain

• The deletion request itself (app affected, email address, date of the request). We must be able to demonstrate that we acted on your request (Art. 5 (2) GDPR). Retention period: three years from the end of the year in which the request was made (the standard limitation period, §§ 195, 199 BGB). After that we delete this record too.
• Usage statistics that have already been anonymised, from Google Analytics and Firebase. This data cannot be traced back to you and can no longer be linked to your account, which is why the deletion does not cover it. Retention period: 14 months from collection, after which it is deleted automatically.

Beyond that we keep no personal data relating to your account.

A field marked with * is mandatory. We deliberately ask only for what we need to identify your account – your name, postal address, telephone number or a copy of an identity document are not required.

Please give the email address your account is registered with. Without it we cannot identify your account.

You can also send your deletion request informally by email to info@data-jt.de. Please state:

• which app is affected (Choosl, Verbotszonen or both),
• the email address of your account,
• whether the entire account or only certain data should be deleted.

Where possible, write to us from the email address your account is registered with. The confirmation step then falls away and we can carry out the deletion straight away.

Besides erasure you have further rights: access to the data stored about you, rectification, restriction of processing, objection to processing, and data portability. Any consent you have given can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future.
